TV Show Stereotypes #5: A Special Sort of Show

Hello again and this time we are going to talk about a cancelled TV show with a very interesting premise. The show is called The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer, and in short it’s a sitcom about a blackman during the American Civil War. That’s not a very good idea and it doesn’t help that they make slavery’s effect lighthearted and funny when it was not. It portrayed the main character Desmond as being okay with slavery as he himself in the show has slaves of his own. The whole tone of the show makes it feel like African Americans were okay with being and it wasn’t such a big deal. Such an awful show and the only good thing about it is that only one episode was made before they took it off the air. But the fact that even one episode was this offensive premise came out still just hurts. Sorry this isn’t my regular type of content but I had to talk about this once I was informed about its existence. Anyways everyone stays still well and has a happy Easter!
